Entre los sublevados se encuentra el joven Hernando. Esta edición responde a una nueva filosofía de aprendizaje en la que se combina una visión general del contenido, con el énfasis en los conceptos esenciales, la relación entre las estructuras anatómica, y la autoevaluación al final de cada una de las secciones. Cada una de las secciones se inicia con una doble página en la que se ofrece un pequeño resumen, un listado de los objetivos de aprendizaje y un caso clínico totalmente desarrollado desde la anamnesis hasta el tratamiento y que suele contener algún tipo de iconografía. Cada sección se cierra con un conjunto de preguntas de autoevaluación para que el estudiante pueda comprobar su nivel de aprendizaje a la vez que se muestra un ejemplo de las preguntas que pueden aparecer en el examen. A lo largo de todo el volumen se refuerza la correlación clínica con la inclusión de pequeños cuadros y su magnífica iconografía centrada en lo esencial, pero con un grado máximo de detalle cuando así se requiere hacen de la obra un referente en el estudio de la anatomía humana.
